Who we are

Poole Military Tattoo is a charity event held at Poole Stadium in aid of The Royal British Legion. We are the data controller for the information collected through this website. You can reach us at hi@poolemilitarytattoo.com or through the contact page.

What we collect and why

Buying tickets

When you buy tickets we collect your name, email address and, if you give it, a phone number, along with your order details. We use these to take payment, send your tickets, check tickets at the gate and answer any questions about your order. This is necessary to fulfil the contract you enter into when you buy a ticket.

Card details are entered directly into a secure form provided by Stripe, our payment processor, and are never seen or stored by us. Stripe processes your payment under its own privacy policy at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

Contacting us

If you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, optional phone number and your message, and use them only to reply to you. Messages are delivered to our inbox by email and are not stored in a database on this website.

Website statistics

We count how many people visit this website, which pages they view and which site they arrived from, so we can see what is useful. This is done on our own server without cookies and without any third-party analytics service.

Each visit is recorded as a one-way hash that changes every day and is then discarded. We do not store your IP address or any other identifier, we cannot recognise you between days, and the statistics are never shared with anyone.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and does not need a cookie banner. The only cookies involved are:

• A sign-in cookie for event staff using the admin and ticket-scanning pages. Visitors never receive this.
• Cookies set by Stripe on the checkout page only, which Stripe uses to keep payments secure and prevent fraud. These are essential to taking your payment.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, trade or rent your information. We share it only with the services we need to run the event:

• Stripe, to take payment for tickets.
• Our email provider, to send your tickets and reply to your messages.
• Our hosting provider, where this website and its database run.

We do not use your details for marketing and will not add you to a mailing list.

How long we keep it

Ticket orders are kept until after the event so tickets can be verified at the gate and any refund or query dealt with, and then for as long as we are required to keep financial records. We delete or anonymise order data once it is no longer needed for those purposes.

Contact messages are kept only as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry.

Website statistics contain no personal information and are kept as long-term visitor counts.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
• Ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need to keep it
• Object to how we use it
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk

Security

This website is served over HTTPS. Order data is stored in a database that only event staff can access, behind individual password-protected logins. Card payments are handled entirely by Stripe.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your information we will update this page and the date at the top.
